Unlocking Inner Peace & outer balance: Expert Tips for Incorporating Chakra Meditation into Your Busy Business Schedule

In the modern business world, mindfulness and meditation practices have become increasingly popular for their ability to balance to reduce stress, increase productivity, and enhance overall wellbeing. An ancient type of meditation that has gained significant attention in recent years is chakra meditation. This practice involves focusing on the body's energy centres, or chakras, to cultivate a sense of inner balance and harmony.

Each chakra corresponds with aspects of our well-being, therefore our work is to balance each chakra to find personal and spiritual alignment. It takes time or expert help to get to know the different ways each chakra can be out of balance, in alignment, or over-active, and how this is showing up for you as an individual. Each chakra can be balanced with healing modalities such as yoga, meditation, journalling, art therapy, time in nature, nutrition and Ayurveda.

If you're looking to start incorporating chakra meditation into your routine, here are five tips to get started in order to navigate and benefit from this ancient practice of alignment and spiritual connection.

From the root to the crown chakra via the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye chakras. Then maybe onto the extra four from the soul star to the divine gateway!

  1. Educate Yourself on Chakra Meditation

Before diving into chakra meditation, it's important to understand the basics of the practice. Research the initial seven chakras and the role each one plays in the body. Identity which issues or strengths resonate with you and then begin to focus on balancing issues whilst enjoying and celebrating your strengths. Begin to notice where a chakra might be overactive and what you could cut back on or tweak in your life. Choose one chakra to begin with - which one are you most drawn to? Maybe the colour of one is calling you rather than the terminology - this is often the case.

As an energy healer who works with the chakra system, I normally start with the root chakra as this is how we ground. Grounding, also known as being grounded or centred, is key to our feeling of stabIlity & security. Helping us to create firm foundations in our lives, helping us to focus without being distracted or torn between obligations or other people’s expectations, whilst reducing the pressures we put on ourselves.

If I am working with another healer or someone who has spent time balancing their chakra system I often go directly into balancing one of the additional four chakras which are concerned with our connection to the higher realms - such as our direct spiritual connection, unity and divine love.

Familiarise yourself with different meditation techniques and other practices that appeal to you to balance the chosen chakra, The more you know, the easier it will be to incorporate the practice into your routine. There are so many chakra meditations on You Tube - go with the one that makes you feel comfortable and inspired. Then think about bringing the associated colour into your life as a form of colour therapy and as a reminder of the aspects you are working on.

Learn about setting intentions with your practice and how affirmations are an important part of the cognitive side of this work. After all - what we tell ourselves embeds in our body energetically, so learn why its important to fill your being with positive, forward thinking affirmations.

2. Find a Comfortable and Quiet Space

To achieve a deep meditative state, it's important to minimise distractions. Find a quiet, uncluttered space where you feel comfortable and won't be interrupted. Set the mood by lighting candles or find healing bowl music on youtube to help you relax and focus. Learning to strengthen your mind to prioritise the meditation over your busy thoughts is the hardest part - once you master this discipline you’re there!

3. Start Small and Be Consistent

As with any new habit, it's important to start small and be consistent. Set aside a few minutes each day to practice chakra meditation. As you become more comfortable with the practice, gradually increase the duration of your meditation sessions. By making it a daily habit, you'll be able to experience the full benefits of chakra meditation.

4 Use reminders around the home and office in the colour of the chakra you’re working on. Every time you see it repeat the intention you’re working on- i find a coloured notebook with the intention written on the front is the best way. Eg if you’re balancing your root chakra the notebook will be red and the affirmation might be “ every day in every way I am setting stronger boundaries” or “ I have mastered stability and am now stepping into my power to …..’.

5. Incorporate Mindful Breathing

One of the key components of chakra meditation is controlled breathing. Start by taking slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you exhale, visualise any negative energy / the unbalanced aspects leaving your body. Focus on your breath and the sensations it creates in your body. This will help you stay present and centred during your meditation practice.

6. Consider Working with a Coach or Mentor

There is a famous saying “When the student is ready, the teacher appears. When the student is truly ready the teacher disappears.” While chakra meditation can be practiced alone, working with an intuitive or awakened coach or mentor can help you deepen your practice and receive guidance on techniques and the wider learnings and life lessons you are working through at a particular time of your evolution. Look for meditation classes or workshops in your area or consider working with a virtual coach. Having a mentor can help you stay accountable and committed to your practice. The right mentor will share a good energetic connection with you, will feel comfortable and will be able to explain a broader, more spiritual perspective of life.

By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to personal alignment and balance and seeing the benefits of chakra meditation into your life. Remember, the key is to start small, acknowledge it’s a learning curve, be consistent, and remain open to the experience. When you are initially faced with the entirety of the chakra system diagrams and annotations it can be confusing. With practice and patience, you'll soon have a very different perspective and understanding of yourself and the world around you, increased happiness and healthier life choices. Your energetic frequency will change and your intuition will strengthen to support your life choices. After all, our choices create our reality.
